This conference at the Boca Raton Resort will go down in history as the rainiest event of all time.

Hurricanes swept through the day before kick-off, causing 30% of attendees and speakers to miss their flights in.

Overnight, what should have been a simple, double-track conference transitioned to a hybrid model. The planning team jumped into action, creating and distributing zoom links to speakers, re-jigging the AV setup and cancelling now un-needed hotel rooms.

The true heartbreaker was that the annual golf tournament now took place in pouring rain. Brave participants still headed out to the course, with planners passing out rain jackets and hot beverages as they came in.

Once the sun came out, and we all took a breath, we couldn’t help but be proud that the conference was still delivered successfully.
